Nine is a splendid choice! Here are some of my personal favorites (not sure if you know them or not):
* Bat Boy (especially with Halloween coming up)
* Rags
* Sweet Charity w/Gwen Verdon
* Chicago w/Gwen Verdon and Chita Rivera
* Parade
* A Little Night Music
* Light in the Piazza
Also, you MUST pick up one of Anthony Warlow's solo albums. I recommend "Centre Stage" to start with.
As for non-music theatre, you can't go wrong with Britney Spears' Greatest Hits, ABBA "Gold," or "Rocking the Suburbs" by Ben Folds.
Kitzy, the Verdon/Rivera Chicago is damn near the only one I'll listen to. Let's not forget to add the fantastic Orbach to that list.
I know all of the others except Parade, Rags and Caroline, Or Change. All of which I have been meaning to listen to. I'll add them to my list for next week!
I can't explain my lack of Anything Goes knowledge other than it just never came up really.
That will all change in approximately 3 hours as I'll be seeing Erika in it.
Hooray for the Romance Romance vote though - that is one of my favorites.
This is certainly my favourite group, I just like almost everything they have made so far, but the initial songs is still some of the greatest songs in my opinion
