Consistent blogging attempt - Take 538

I think I have displayed in the past that my blogging adventures are anything but consistent. I'm going to try my best to change that. Of course - why should you believe me? It's a tune I've sung before. The answer is - you shouldn't. Just allow me to give it a go.

I've been not feeling too great the past couple of days (which is when I tend to blog) but you can expect to hear/read rambling thoughts from me soon.

Also - if you haven't been over to my MySpace in a while - I've updated and added some fun. Go check it out.

Tuesday's Entry over at the Sunset & 42nd Blog!

I posted a new entry over on the S&42 blog this morning with some video clips of Blake Lewis and my petty and immature thoughts on Melinda Doolittle. Go check it out: American Idol: Finale or Finally?

Rant: Amazon.com, SHIP THIS!

I can't believe I'm going to rant about Amazon.com. I've been a big supporter for years. I actually subscribe to their Amazon Prime package which allows me to pay a flat fee every year and get all of my orders sent as Two Day Shipping. One of the perks of that is that I can also upgrade to Next Day Shipping at $3.99 per item regardless of weight.

Well, I ordered an XBox 360 on Amazon to be shipped to Clay on Monday. We wanted to play Major League Baseball 2K7 on the XBox Live online version. I decided (and covinced) that Amazon was the place to go because there isn't any sales tax and that he could have the XBox 360 in his posession by Tuesday morning.

10 minutes after placing the order the status on Amazon changed to this:
Items shipping soon:
Delivery estimate: May 23, 2007 - May 24, 2007

* 1 of: Xbox 360 Console Includes 20GB Hard Drive
Sold by: Amazon.com

48 hours after place the order the status on Amazon reads this:
Items shipping soon:
Delivery estimate: May 23, 2007 - May 24, 2007

* 1 of: Xbox 360 Console Includes 20GB Hard Drive
Sold by: Amazon.com

UGH! I emailed them asking what the deal is and they stated that if it doesn't ship by the end of business on the 24th that they said it is in the process of shipping and " Please contact us again by visiting http://www.amazon.com/contact-us if you do not receive a shipment confirmation by May 24, 2007."

Really? The thing was supposed to ship within 24 hours and arrive in another 24 hours and I can't get any clear answer as to why it's taking this long to process until 4 days after the fact?

Beyond that - since it is in "shipping soon" mode, I can't even cancel the order and buy it somewhere else.

Quite annoying.

Productivity

Well, I've been trying to get out of my funk lately and today is a very positive first step.

I've accomplished quite a few things on my To Do list today and I am working on various projects that I've been meaning to do for years.

Currently, I am transferring the 2001 Major Leauge Baseball All Star Game from VHS to DVD. That was Cal Ripken's final All-Star game, Ichiro's first All Star Game. The last All Star Game prior to 9/11. It was very good.

I'm also trasnferring various "footwear" items from cassette to the computer. I believe I am currently doing a Rocky Horror Show from Vienna.

It's extremely enjoyable to be able to get these stacks of VHS relics onto a more useable format and toss the tapes.

Oh happy day indeed.

Check out the Sunset & 42nd blog as I posted my thoughts on the passing of Charles Nelson Reilly.

Also - for those who may have been concerned - Amazon came through and got the XBox360 to Clay AND refunded my $3.99 upgraded shipping fee. It's something, right?

I was feeling quite ill the past few days but am starting to feel better. It sucks to feel like ass when Anji actually the abililty to take a few days and just hang out.

C'est La Vie.
